Professional Writing Education

As a public relations student at Belmont University, I had several opportunities to expand my professional writing skills. The following courses enriched my knowledge of professional public relations writing:

While pursuing my degree, I was given the chance to intern with several companies across a wide variety of fields and to write content on their behalf.

One of my favorite professional writing experiences to date has been writing blog content on behalf of Vision in White Events (VIW), a Nashville based wedding planning company. While interning with the company, I had the opportunity to write wedding recaps, original content and vendor spotlights. Writing these blogs not only helped me fine toon my professional writing, but also allowed me to take a deep dive into the wedding planning industry and connect with vendors to learn more about their role in weddings. This internship experience led to me becoming an event assistant for the company as well, where I now assist in making people's wedding day dreams come true.

Additionally, I also have experience writing internal documents for companies like Jackson National Life Insurance and Real Brokerage. While interning for both companies I had the opportunity to write newsletters for the entire company. These newsletters detailed everything from employee highlights to industry specific content. This experience helped me to understand the nuances of creating internal documents for major companies, as well as valuable insights into both the insurance and real estate fields. Having never studied either profession in depth before interning, this experience also taught me how to research and inform myself about industry's that are out of my comfort zone.

With social media continuing to be a crucial instrument in any professionals tool belt, I have also had the opportunity to develop both visual and written content for social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
