While going to school in Nashville, I have seen first hand all of the good Vanderbilt Children's Hospital is doing to ensure their patients are getting the best possible care. I've had the opportunity to go into the hospital as a volunteer and to speak to Vanderbilt staff about how much their patients mean to them throughout my time in Nashville and it is clear just how much good the organization does. Vanderbilt is more than just a hospital, it's an organization dedicated to ensure that children get to stay kids, even when they are going through challenges no one should ever have to face.
Hands on Nashville is one of the biggest nonprofits in Nashville. The group is most recognizably known for their volunteer coordination during natural disasters. I had the privilege of working with Hands on Nashville to create a public relations campaign for my Senior Capstone project and got to learn just how essential this organization is for the volunteer capacity of Nashville. Hands on Nashville organizes volunteers to other nonprofits, ensuring that no cause goes unheard.

Book’em's mission is to create a more literate Nashville and ignite children’s passion for reading through book ownership and enthusiastic volunteers.
As an avid reader myself, I have always loved the mission of Book'em. So often books have provided me with so much comfort and joy, and Book'em is an organization passionate about making sure children in Nashville have access to that same opportunity. Book'em promotes literacy and shows kids the magical world of books by giving them their very own books to own and cherish forever.
